Good Day to all .
I'm a grandmother of two wonder little girls.
Their mother has been trying to collect support for more then a year.
She has filled out all the request for support forms and sent them in. Does the support come? No. The Devision of Child Support Enforcement says it isn't their job to find and collect the funds. They only send her the funds if the Ex sends it in or if his employer sends it.
My point is the State isn't doing it's job. On the front of the application it states the following:
Division of Child Support shall
Locate noncustodial parent. (They told us WE have to do this)
Enforce court orders.(Still not done)
Collecting and Distributing funds.(Key word COLLECTING) They say they don't do this.
I really believe alot needs to change in Virginia. We are behind the eight ball in this.
The taxpayer is picking up the tab for these kids.
The dead beat parent simply walk away from these kids.
You take them to court and NOTHING happens. In our case, he simply left the state. We need to change the law and punishment for this.
We are owed over twenty thousand dollars . Why is this. Simply put, he could walk away.
We need to charge these people with Child Neglect. That is what it is. I don't care what fancy legal language you want to use to cover it up. Simply put it's NEGLECT!!!!!
We need to change this in our state. We need to show the rest of the contry that we want our kids cared for and that we will hold a person responsible for their actions, for their kids.
I need help. your help in getting the law changed. I don't know where to start. Can anyone suggest what I can do. Are you in the same place as my daughter? Do you want your Dead Beat to face serious jail time if they don't pay up?
Help me to help you. We need to stand together for the children of our state.
